In a shocking incident that has left the community reeling, the lifeless bodies of 20-year-old Mohammad Mustafa and 18-year-old Sahbun Nesha were found hanging from a tree in an orchard close to Bagaha. The discovery has ignited speculation about their possible romantic connection, with villagers torn between grief and disbelief.
Bettiah: Bodies of a young man and a woman were found hanging from a tree in an orchard near Bagaha town in West Champaran district on Wednesday morning. It is suspected that the two were having a love affair, police said.The deceased were identified as Mohammad Mustafa (20) and Sahbun Nesha (18)—residents of ward no. 33 and 35, respectively.According to locals, villagers found the two bodies hanging in the orchard from the same tree early in the morning. The police were immediately informed, following which a team from the town police station reached the spot and began an investigation.Bagaha SP Kumari Nirmala said, “Police received information that the bodies of a girl and a boy were found hanging from a tree branch facing each other. A police team along with the FSL unit reached the spot and started an investigation. Questioning the people nearby revealed that the two were having an affair. The bodies have been sent to the sub-divisional hospital for the postmortem. The autopsy report will reveal the exact cause of death. Police are investigating the case from all angles, including suicide and honour killing. The accused will be arrested soon.”
